Paradise Now

Aubrey and I went to see this movie with our friends Jeremy and Amy. Wow, what a great perspective. Two palestinian guys are recruited for a suicide bombing, but struggle with the idea, wondering if it is the best way for final peace. First movie I've seen that shows the Palestinian side of things, how they feel trapped by the Israeli's, how they feel like the victims with no power and how they want liberation.

Miroslav Volf writes: "the categories of oppression and liberation provide combat gear, not a pin-striped suit or dinner dress; they are good for fighting, but not for negotiating or celebrating--at least not until the oppressors have been conquered and the prisoners set free." (103 Exclusion and Embrace)
